V-O-L-S, GO VOLS GO!

Today I woke up, walked outside, and realized (rather quickly) I was shivering. Before I could completely fill the water bowls for the dogs, I had to come back inside and put on long pants.
That's when it hit me. Today was the opening game day for college football. Yes, I know a few games were played earlier this week, but the important games were today. The season opener is the warm-up where big dogs win big and get pumped up for game 2 of the season. This day was also so perfect for a nice long stroll with two of the most precious puppies I've ever seen and the greatest parents anyone could ask for. We walked for an hour or more then went a ran a few errands, took a piece of furniture to Jimmie Hale, shopped a bit and it was time for work. So, since I didn't get to see any games I thought I'd recap via ESPN:

In Descending Order of importance:
Born and raised bleeding, BIG ORANGE, my first and foremost:

You may ask yourself...Why does Alabama's score even matter to a Tennessee fan? or How does the Auburn score affect you? And Texas, really, Texas? Well I would have to let you know that right now I live in the state of Alabama. This means that I work in the state of Alabama. And thus I worked on Game Day in Alabama. People are especially nice here if they now they're about to crush an opponent and stand tall as National Champs. Furthermore they are all in Tuscaloosa. I work in Birmingham; get my drift, makes for a great day at work. We get a significant amount of work. we never get to do, done on Game Day. As for Auburn, I've lived in Alabama long enough, 7 years, to know there are two teams if you are a resident of Alabama and you're not watching the Tide Roll in, you're watching the Tigers do their thing. Lastly, Texas. Well. I figure, I need to be on the up and up when I get there, we're four games in and I'm needing a deal on the cable bill with the guy in the Hook 'Em Horn's t-shirt under the DirecTv polo. So with that. I'm off to re-fill more water bowls for five of the best dogs ever. Hope your opening game day was great, and remember:
It's great, to be, a TENNESSEE VOL!!

Happy Birthday Dad!

I love you and hope your day of celebration with Mom, french toast, maple syrup, orange juice, coffee, the morning paper, biking, walking, and your veggies for lunch is awesome! I don't have a picture but I will recreate one of your favorite moments...Imagine a 4 year old blonde girl walking up to your bed at 6:30 in the morning and asking, "Want to go make waffles...Want To?" Happy Happy!!

Dear San Antonio,

Get ready because here we come! We are armed with a GX 470, a 7500lb hitch, a U-Haul, one week's supply of everything, two puppies with fresh haircuts, and a very excited pair of Doctor Stanleys.
And for all you blog readers out there, ha! We have a house! It is a lovely 3 bedroom 2 bathroom stack stone with some updates, a 2 car garage, an awesome backyard, hardwood floors throughout, and in a great neighborhood. It is bigger than we are in now and is just waiting for us to give it some definition. What do I mean by that you may ask...I mean the previous tenant had weights and a exercise ball in what I will define as "the breakfast room" and that was it! Nothing more in this ginormous tiled floor room that overlooks the back deck and back yard but a set of free weights and an exercise ball. So I hope to give the rooms a little definition and style. We will see how that goes in a few weeks.
In other news, Congratulations BC passed his boards! I love you and all your dental work; your work is beautiful and you are handsome!
I'll leave you with this gem from Huntsville. That's all for now hope you all have a great day!

Where did I leave off...

HistoricTut
wiler Hotel then we were seated in the Alys Stevens Center for a lovely ceremony that included diplomas, hoods and lots of mortar boards.
THEN the following Tuesday we drove to meet up with the Stanleys and Hensons in Hilton Head, SC...sadly I have no pictures that I can lay my hands on. It was great getting to spend quality time with these great people including our precious nephews Brendan and Will, despite the egg incident.
The following week Brandon and the Bovine/Howe/Stanley/Crews/Pittman men headed to Canada for a bit of fishing and fried food. While they were off being manly men my mother, me, Judy Wood and Lauren Little flew to Los Vegas to enjoy ourselves in the ways of shopping, CHER, sun bathing, Phantom of the Opera, O, The Bodies and the list goes on and on! Here are some of my favorites from that trip:

THE LAS VEGAS SIGN: A must have photo!

Mom and Judy trying on masks at O
Lauren and me outside the O theater with the amazing costume
The beautiful lioness at the MGM...the animals were amazing
All in all it was a busy summer! So much fun!

Happy Anniversary!

August 4, 2007 I married my best friend! It was a great hot summer day that was too perfect! We have been married for three years and I honestly can't imagine life without him. So, to you Brandon Cayle, happy anniversary and I look forward to MANY many more. And to you few blog readers here's a little glimpse of what our day was like three years ago...http://rickichester.net/Emily
Enjoy!

Congratulations Brandon C.Stanley, DMD

Here's a long overdue update of the crazy life Brandon Cayle and I have been living in the past two months....
May: Brandon took the dental board exam and after much of that stress and hectic planning we were off to spend a week in Mexico, we got tan:

Met cool people and went bottom fishing:
Ate the fish we caught at a lovely dinner, one of many, with said cool people we met:

Then after several dress up dinners, rounds of golf, margaritas, drinks of the day, grilled cheeses we came home. But first I must explain the grilled cheese...the first day we got there we met a couple that was leaving the next day. And this resort, not being an all inclusive, had several markets to shop at for food and other necessities. Anyway back to the couple who was leaving...they offered up a dozed eggs, 16oz of cheese, tomatoes, bread, onion, apples and a cooler full of beer. It. Was. Awesome. We had a great time! I love this last picture:

We got back to Alabama a day late after a crazy storm in Houston grounded us in San Antonio and Continental generously took us back to Houston just to leave us there over night...lovely trip nonetheless.
So the following Saturday, June 5th:
